Job Description:

As a Staff Accountant in our Housing Accounting team, you will be responsible for producing accurate and timely financial statements. This includes taking the source information provided by various operating entries, recording accurate journal entries to produce a set of financial statements that are accurate, and preparing the operation schedules for the fiscal year-end audit.
Typical Responsibilities and Duties include:
• Assist with completion of Preliminary financials.
• Complete final financials
• Assist with completion of Audited Financial Statements for assigned properties
• Complete and distribute ABC reports to appropriate HUD office by deadline
• Calculate PILOT tax amounts
• Create and maintain thorough documentation for all major processes and procedures
• Generate Print and distribute all financial statements and GL posting reports
• Maintain Fixed Asset Database
• Reconcile reserve Accounts
• Reviews source data information to produce accurate journal entries. • • Enters journal entries into the computer with a timely and accurate manner.
• Reviews the financial statements for accuracy
• Completes bank reconciliations.
• Updates the audit schedules monthly.
• Reports on the training of those providing source documentation monthly.
• Reports the deficiencies in internal control monthly.
• Performs other related duties as assigned
Education: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience: None required, one year of accounting experience preferred.
