Moss Creek Owners Association is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. The Staff Accountant plays an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing member payments, supporting accounts payable functions, and assisting with timely financial reporting. This position works closely with the Accounting Manager and Director of Finance to ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of daily accounting operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide exceptional service to homeowners, vendors, and internal teams.
Essential Responsibilities
- Process and reconcile daily cash deposits for all departments.
- Prepare end-of-day accounting paperwork for review and closure.
- Process member account payments received through checks and online payment options.
- Process and deposit miscellaneous payments.
- Manage weekly check runs and accounts payable responsibilities.
- Process fitness contractor classes for biweekly payroll.
- Process monthly utility invoices, including electricity, internet/phone, and water expenses.
- Maintain time records for temporary contract employees.
- Reconcile and process monthly state and local tax payments.
- Maintain vendor listings and financial records.
- Prepare monthly reports, including amenity usage, home sales, and golf rounds.
- Review and assist with monthly general ledger reconciliation and sign-off processes.
- Participate in monthly Clubhouse beer, liquor, and wine inventory counts.
- Assist with front desk coverage, member inquiries, mailings, and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Two or more years of accounting experience preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with club management software, HOA, or property management accounting is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and prepare accurate reports.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial information.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This position works primarily in an office environment and requires the ability to manage multiple priorities while providing responsive support to staff, management, and homeowners. The role requires regular sitting, computer use, communication, and occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
