Momar is looking for a Staff Accountant!
Momar, Inc., a privately owned specialty chemical manufacturer based in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team. Reporting to the CFO, the Staff Accountant is responsible for following all accounting procedures, supporting the company's day-to-day financial operations, and ensuring the organization's financial integrity.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the company’s State and Local Taxes, including corporate filings, account setup and management, liaison with jurisdictional offices.
- Manage the Concur expense reporting system, reviewing and approving employee expense reports.
- Accounting duties for our sister company: Widespread Industrial Supplies
- Manage the Avalara account and related processes
- Post and process journal entries at the direction of the Controller
- Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable posting, if needed
- Provide support for all audits
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Complete bank reconciliations.
- Perform Balance Sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support in the preparation of monthly/yearly financial closings.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Ability to multi-task, prioritize work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills required.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make decisions without supervision.
- Efficient and accurate data entry skills for updating financial information in databases.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the finance and accounting team.
- Willingness to stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and practices.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
- 5 or more years of relevant experience
Physical Requirements: Sedentary
- Ability to routinely lift and/or move 25 lbs. unassisted.
- Frequently required to sit, use hands and fingers to handle/feel items, reach with hands and arms, stoop, bend, and talk or hear.
