Staff Accountant

We are looking for a strong accountant with experience in a variety of accounting specialties.   Our position will have responsibilities in multiple functions within the accounting group.   This role will have progressive duties, and the expectation is that this person will continue to grow and develop their skills and breadth of different accounting functions.  

Locke Supply is a mid-sized, employee-owned company with operations in 6 different states.   

What are the requirements?

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Strong problem solving and research skills
• Ability to think “outside of the box”
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills
• Written and verbal communication – Role will require both e-mail and phone calls to Company branches and outside parties to gather information needed for daily tasks
• Time management and multitasking – There may be multiple tasks to manage at one time so the ability to keep moving, ask questions, and request help, as needed, is vital.  Don’t be afraid to ask questions or get clarification!
• Works independently when needed and collaborates effectively in a team
• Persistence and follow through – Ensure tasks are taken to completion.  This may require multiple follow-ups with other individuals to get the appropriate information
• A positive attitude and the willingness to try and learn new things

What are some preferred attributes of a candidate?

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Prior experience performing reconciliation work and other accounting functions
• Experience with Infor SxE 
• Experience with SQL
