POSITION/LEVEL: Staff Accountant FLSA STATUS: Exempt
DEPT/OFFICE: Premier Fund Accounting DATE: July 2026
JOB SUMMARY AND DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE WORK:
The Staff Accountant reviews and analyzes the financial reporting on a property and fund level basis. This position works under the supervision of the Fund Accounting Vice Presidents.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution; and
- One to two years in public accounting or the real estate industry; or
- Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
Licenses and Certifications:
- CPA or CPA track desired
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Reviews operational monthly financial reporting packages for multiple properties
- Monitors fund cash and prepares reconciliations for fund bank accounts
- Coordinates and communicates the results, findings and recommendations of monthly reviews with various departments including Asset Management and Property Management
- Review and understanding of partnership agreements, loan documents, and leases
- Supports Property Accounting with proper recording of transactions
- Assists with external audits and reviews including preparation of year-end audit workpapers
- Prepares reconciliations for fund level balance sheet accounts
- Prepares journal entries for fund level activity
- Prepares lender reporting packages and assists in the calculation of certain debt covenants
- Prepares and/or reviews quarterly investor reporting
- Processes invoices for fund level expenses
