We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team in Sedalia, MO. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting and analysis, and helping drive informed business decisions across the organization. What You'll Do

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare month-end journal entries and account reconciliations
• Analyze financial results and identify trends, variances, and opportunities
• Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Support financial analysis and special projects as needed

Accounting Operations

• Process customer invoicing and maintain accurate financial records
• Complete sales tax filings and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
• Perform daily cash and credit card reconciliations
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and inventory accounting functions

Process Improvement & Compliance

• Develop and maintain accounting procedures and documentation
• Support internal and external audit activities
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, accuracy, and efficiency
• Partner with managers across the organization to gather information and support business decisions

What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of accounting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and accounting/ERP systems. 
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
