Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper

DOPE Marketing is growing fast, and our books need someone who can keep pace with us. We're hiring a Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper to work alongside our Financial Controller and own the daily accounting operations that keep our multi-storefront e-commerce business running clean, accurate, and audit-ready.

What you'll be doing

• Keeping the books current: daily sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.

• Running AP/AR — vendor bills, customer invoices, and collections.

• Reconciling bank and credit card statements and chasing down every discrepancy.

• Untangling revenue across Stripe and Shopify and reconciling it against source data.

• Helping us finish rolling out a standardized, margin-based revenue system in HubSpot.

• Auditing our Amex statements and subscription billing to catch what shouldn't still be charged.

• Owning our direct mail (EDDM/postcard) credit risk tracker.

• Supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, plus audits along the way.

What you bring

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar.

• 1–3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.

• Real, hands-on QuickBooks experience.

• Working knowledge of Shopify and Stripe (required) — HubSpot experience is a big plus.

• Excel skills that go beyond SUM() — pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and building reports from scratch.

• A solid handle on GAAP basics and accrual vs. cash accounting.

• The discretion to handle confidential pricing, margin, and vendor data like it's your own.

Bonus points if you have

• Bookkeeping experience in e-commerce or multi-storefront retail.

• Collections experience.

• Marketing agency or direct mail (EDDM/postcard) background.

• A knack for spotting subscriptions that should've been canceled months ago.
