Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to add to our accounting team. This role will support the financial operations of a conglomerate of construction companies under the Custom Concrete umbrella. The ideal candidate will be responsible for multiple tasks to help produce the monthly financials.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain leases, amortization and depreciation schedules for fixed assets.
- Process sales tax filings accurately and timely.
- Process daily banking activities.
- Reconcile monthly bank statements.
- Record and reconcile journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
- Assist with billings and payables as needed.
- Process other tasks and reports as requested.
- Support audit and compliance activities by preparing documentation and schedules.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure financial data integrity.
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2-4 years of accounting experience preferred (internships or construction industry experience a plus).
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
