Staff Accountant - Contract

Our Media & Communications client is seeking a Temporary Staff Accountant to join its collaborative and fast-paced finance team. This hybrid opportunity is primarily remote, with occasional onsite meetings in the DC area.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities while contributing to key month-end and audit activities.

What You’ll Do

• Support month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
• Partner with accounting operations teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Assist with royalty accounting activities, including contract review and system validation
• Prepare audit support schedules and respond to ad hoc audit requests
• Analyze financial data and help improve reporting accuracy and efficiency
• Collaborate cross-functionally with finance and accounting team members on special projects and ongoing initiatives

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
• Experience working with large data sets and complex financial systems
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines with accuracy and professionalism
