Staff Accountant
Job Description and Overview
Looking for a talented Staff Accountant to maintain the books of multiple entities across our growing platform. This role owns day-to-day accounting for several operating companies — general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll — and supports the consolidated financial reporting that leadership relies on to run the business.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and motivated to grow with a company that is actively acquiring and integrating new businesses. This is a hands-on role with real visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Multi-Entity Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate general ledgers for multiple entities, recording transactions daily and ensuring consistency in coding and documentation across companies.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly balance sheets and income statements for multiple entities and support the preparation of consolidated financial statements across the platform.
- Month-End Close: Execute the month-end close for assigned entities, including month-end journal entries for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued expenses, deferred revenue, and inventory adjustments, and maintenance of the related supporting schedules.
- Bank & Credit Card Reconciliations: Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and clearing accounts (payroll clearing, Bill.com in/out, undeposited funds) on a monthly basis.
- System Syncs & Integrations: Manage the flow of data between systems by coding and syncing Bill.com and Divvy (BILL Spend & Expense) transactions into QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
- Intercompany Activity: Record and reconcile intercompany transactions, allocations, and payroll reimbursements between entities.
- Accounts Receivable: Invoice customers accurately and timely using Bill.com and ConnectWise; monitor aging and follow up on collections.
- Accounts Payable: Process accounts payable using Bill.com, reviewing transactions for accurate coding, proper approval, and supporting documentation.
- Payroll: Process payroll journal entries with accruals and reconcile payroll liability and clearing accounts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
- Sales & Use Tax: Prepare and file sales and use tax returns (monthly and quarterly) in multiple states, including sales tax prepayments and related regulatory filings.
- Audit & Tax Support: Assist with annual audit preparation and income tax compliance, including gathering documentation and preparing supporting schedules.
- Process Improvement: Help streamline and standardize accounting processes across entities as the platform scales.

- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Experience with QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, NetSuite or other ERP
- Strong proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft Office suite
- Strong communication skills and a positive, collaborative attitude
- Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple sets of books

Nice to Haves
- CPA, CPA candidate, or public accounting experience
- Experience preparing sales and use tax filings
- Experience with multi-entity accounting structures, consolidations, or intercompany accounting
- Exposure to post-acquisition financial integration (chart of accounts mapping, system migrations, opening balance setup)
- Experience in a high-growth, fast-paced environment, ideally a private equity-backed or acquisitive company
- NetSuite implementation
Growth Path
This role is designed to grow. As the accountant demonstrates ownership of tasks, they will have the opportunity to take on consolidated reporting, variance and trend analysis, budgeting support, and hands-on involvement in acquisition integrations.
