Rooted in the belief that every person reflects the image of God, we journey together as neighbors, empowering individuals to shape their own futures with our unwavering support. The Staff Accountant maintains records of financial transactions, reconciles and balances accounts, verifies, and posts general ledger adjusting entries, and compiles schedules and reports.  Our Staff Accountant understands and can train clerks in cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to operations.LOCATION:                       197 E. Gay St Columbus, OH 43215Duties/Responsibilities: Prepares and records general ledger entries in accordance with GAAP: Monthly beneficial interest in funds held by others. Monthly bank charges. Maintain required documentation to ensure proper internal controls. Reporting Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual funder and financial reports Assist with accounting and financial requests from internal and external customers. Prepare various financial  statements Reconciliation of various accounts held by the agency. Prepare the required information for the Trial Balance, Schedule of Released Funds, Schedule of Federal Grant Activity and statement of Functional expenses at year end.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting Knowledge of fund accounting software, Financial Edge, preferred. Three (3) to Five (5) years’ experience in accounting, non-profit, preferred. Effective analytic, creative, evaluative, and advisory history.Required Skills / Abilities: Ability to learn new software programs. Detail Oriented. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Pass a BCI/FBI criminal background check and drug screening. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, strong working knowledge of Excel.
