Staff Accountant
As a subsidiary of a Fortune 100 company and a growing division within the Equipment & Supply area, we are adding a new position to assist with and oversee our increased financial reporting duties and general daily responsibilities. Location: Will work out of our office in Salina, KS, office. This is not a remote position.
Pay: Expected starting rate is $46,800 - $75,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: General daytime office hours
Summary: Responsible for performing routine financial tasks, including managing financial records, preparing financial statements like balance sheets and income statements, tracking transactions, ensuring accuracy of accounting data, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards, typically by following generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) while reporting to a higher-level accounting position. This role will handle the division’s basic financial activities to maintain accurate financial records and provide essential financial reporting.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
- Prepare financial statements and reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the company’s financial performance.
- Manage accounts receivable (invoicing and collections from customers), ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
- Performa regular reconciliation of bank statements, credit card statements, and other accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and post journal entries to record financial transactions, adjustments, and accruals.
- Assist with reviewing and processing employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and proper documentation.
- Provide support during internal and external audits, including preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial data and analysis to support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Training/Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience is required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
- One year of related work experience is preferred
- Proficiency with accounting software is preferred (DDI experience helpful)
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools is preferred
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Enterprise Resource Planning) is a plus.
