Job Title: Staff Accountant

Reports To: Senior Accountant

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Work Location: Hybrid (1-2 days in office; 3-4 days remote)

Position Overview: The Staff Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies. This role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of financial data, assisting with month-end close, and supporting both corporate and franchise-related accounting activities.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and adjustments 
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations 
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies 
• Support accounts payable and receivable functions as needed 
• Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and depreciation records 
• Assist in preparing financial statements and internal reports 
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making 
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards 
• Support audit processes by preparing schedules and documentation 
• Assist with franchise-related financial tracking, including royalty reporting (if applicable)

• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to ensure accurate financial data

Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy 
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines 
• Strong organizational and time management skills 
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal) 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment 
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic formula srequired) 
• Experience with accounting/ERP systems (e.g.,Sage Intaact) preferred

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• 1-3years of accounting experience preferred
• Public accounting or multi-entity experience preferred 
• Experience in construction, real estate, or franchise environments is a plus 

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and participating in virtual meetings.

Travel Requirements:

• Hybrid schedule with at least one in-office day per week(St. Petersburg, FL)
