DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payment processing.
- Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain vendor records and payment files.
- Process employee reimbursement requests in accordance with organizational policies.
- Process incoming payments including checks, ACH transactions, and credit card receipts.
- Record and apply cash receipts accurately to customer and member accounts.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with account follow-up as needed.
- Maintain accurate accounts receivable records and supporting documentation.
- Administer the organization’s corporate credit card program.
- Review employee credit card transactions for proper documentation and coding.
- Monitor outstanding receipts and policy compliance.
- Reconcile monthly credit card statements and ensure timely expense recording.
- Prepare routine journal entries as assigned.
- Assist with monthly account reconciliations.
- Support month-end close activities by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
- Maintain organized accounting records in accordance with internal control procedures.
- Assist with audit requests and documentation preparation as assigned.
- Provide general administrative and accounting support to the Finance Department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in nonprofit or association accounting.
- Working knowledge of GAAP.
- Experience processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Experience with account reconciliations and financial record maintenance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
COMPENSATION, BENEFITS, AND LOCATION
The salary range for this exempt position is between $80,000 - $85,000 plus a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision insurance; fifteen paid holidays plus additional annual leave; above market contribution to company sponsored 403(b) retirement plan; on-site fitness facility, 24/7 building security, secured bike storage and more. Additionally, available underground public parking is accessible for all employees at their own expense.
This is a full-time position located at AASCU’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. AASCU employees who live within commuting distance to our offices are expected to work on a hybrid in-person work schedule of three days in the office and two days optional remote. This schedule is subject to change based on work and organizational demands.
