Alternative Family Services is a Foster Family, Adoption and Mental Health Agency that has been serving abused and neglected children in our community since 1973. Our mission is to support vulnerable children and families in need of stability, safety, and well-being in communities. We provide a wide range of foster, adoption, mental health and transition-aged youth services in English and Spanish. We have eight locations throughout the Bay Area and 200 employees. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and complete the monthly foster care revenue process
- Review data for foster care placements, verify accuracy, and identify and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare reports for board and care payments and ensure resource parents are paid accurately and timely
- Provide customer service for resource parent inquiries
- Enter cash receipts and record journal entries
- Research and resolve delinquent receivable accounts
- Process timesheets for bi-weekly payroll and provide back-up support for other payroll duties
- Reconcile GL accounts on a monthly basis
- At least four years of accounting experience in a similar role
- Intermediate Excel skills required
- Ability to perform high volume data entry with a high level of accuracy
- High level of aptitude and excellent organization skills
- Must be reliable, flexible and able to meet deadlines
- Ability to work through and resolve issues

- Pay range of $24-$29/hour
