About the Role:

The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the company’s financial operations by maintaining accurate records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end close and financial reporting. This position works closely with the operations team to provide accurate reporting and identify areas for financial improvement. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain financial records, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Support accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow activities.
• Monitor daily timekeeping and ensure proper job cost data.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with the finance team.
• Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to system enhancements.

Qualifications:

• 2–4+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management abilities.
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
• Experience with job costs accounting is a preferred. 

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Occasional travel to field sites, job locations, or company divisions as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds if necessary.

Work Environment:

• Office-based role with occasional field or site visits.
• Standard business hours with occasional extended hours during peak periods

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
