JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Finance, the staff accountant will be responsible to perform journal entries, maintain fixed assets system, certain account reconciliations, and manage month end work for the hospital and realty entities. Assist in projects as assigned and other duties.
SCHEDULE:
Monday- Friday, 40 hours per week
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for creating and posting month end journal entries as assigned to the realty companies.
- Responsible for creating and posting month end journal entries as assigned to the hospital.
- Assist in maintaining FixedAsset system and (CIP) construction in progress.
- Works closely with Director of Finance to reconcile all Pre-Paid Balance Sheet accounts.
- Reconciles Operating Bank Account only as a control function.
- Assist in certain tax filings such as annual Mercentile/Business Privilege taxes and 1099s.
- Assist in unclaimed property filings such as PA Unclaimed Property
- Responsible for Quarterly Reconciliations of balance sheet accounts as assigned accounts.
- Assist in the ASC 842 leasing and posting entries.
- Assist the Budget Director as needed and serve as back up for other finance department personnel.
- Other duties as assigned as needed.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required. Master’s degree in Accounting a plus
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and journal preparation and analysis.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in partnership tax accounting.
- Must be able to develop financial and other operational processes to accurately report and control financial activities in the general ledger accounts.
- Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software products and Sage 100 or other similar software.
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to effectively and efficiently make use of time and resources.
- Must possess professional and effective communication skills and be able to promote effective communication at all levels.
- Assumes responsibility for own personal continuing education and developmental needs.
