Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and supporting various accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.

• Record journal entries for expenses, accruals, and other financial transactions.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

• Analyze financial data and provide insights to management on key performance indicators.:

• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payment to vendors.

• Prepare and send customer invoices, monitor accounts receivable, and follow up on overdue payments.

• Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Record bank transactions and update cash flow reports.

• Review and approve employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.

• Monitor and analyze expense trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Assist in financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.

• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by management.

• Assist with internal and external audits, providing documentation and support as needed.

• Ensure compliance with audit requirements and address audit findings in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 2+ years  of experience in accounting or a similar role.

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP).

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
