Sr Payroll Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Sr. Payroll Analyst is principally responsible for supporting the payroll accounting and tax functions, as well as helping lead the payroll processing and administration functions for the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

May perform any or all of the following duties:

• Supports and oversees the weekly processing of payroll, including audits of all data imported and exported from the payroll system to ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Responsible for balancing accounts within accounting systems and maintaining an accurate general ledger.
• Records journal entries and reconciles payroll and tax accounts and returns, ensuring timely completion of each period and quarter.
• Works closely with Finance on all periodic payroll data, as well as any ad hoc questions that arise.
• Coordinates payroll transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assists where required with timekeeping administration
• Researches and resolves payroll discrepancies
• Maintains records, audits, and provides information upon request to business partners
• Ensures that employee income is properly taxed and reported to government agencies and is correctly collected for internal reporting
• Maintains and validates payroll controls and prepares reports for the Tax department, Internal Audit, and external auditors.
• Conducts periodic and quarterly payroll tax balancing reviews with UKG Pro Tax & Payment Services, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies and registration of new jurisdictions when necessary.
• Responsible for all tax audits (Federal, State, and Local), working with auditors and providing requested information.

• Oversees preparation, validation, and reconciliation of State and Local W2's for submission at calendar year-end, as well as any necessary W2Cs throughout the year.

• Serves as a subject matter expert to other payroll analysts
• Coordinates and provides support for tax amendments and inquiries
• Supports ad-hoc payroll projects as assigned
• Demonstrates excellent time-management skills and autonomous work ethic

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/CORE COMPETENCIES

• Seven (7) + years of any combination of experience and/or education that demonstrates a commanding knowledge of the payroll process, including accounting, tax, and reporting
• BA/BS Degree preferred

• Must have the ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy, with excellent attention to detail
• Must have advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
• UKGPro, PeopleSoft, and Crunchtime experience preferred
• Must display strong analytical and organizational skills
• Must have a strong work ethic and a high level of discretion and integrity to ensure proper handling of confidential information

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Restaurant Support Center operates in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven environment. The role follows a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence in the office every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
