Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst to support complex payroll operations across North America and international markets for our financial services client. This role will play a critical part in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing while partnering closely with HR, Finance, Benefits, and external vendors. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced managing payroll across multiple jurisdictions in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and support payroll operations across the U.S., Canada, Caribbean, and other global locations, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing
- Process and review semi-monthly payrolls for salaried and hourly employees using Workday and ADP
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external payroll providers to resolve payroll discrepancies and maintain service excellence
- Lead payroll reconciliations and collaborate with Finance to ensure payroll accounts are accurately balanced to the general ledger
- Support payroll audits, year-end activities, tax filings, reconciliations, and the issuance of required payroll documentation, including W-2s and T4s
- Provide payroll support related to employee benefits, leaves of absence, and other payroll-impacting events
- Assist with payroll activities associated with mergers, acquisitions, and organizational changes
- Investigate and resolve complex payroll issues while ensuring compliance with payroll regulations, internal policies, and data privacy requirements
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies
- Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted resource on payroll policies, procedures, and systems
Qualifications
- Postsecondary education in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5–8 years of progressive payroll experience, preferably within a multi-location or global organization
- Strong hands-on experience with end-to-end payroll processing, including Workday and ADP
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. and Canadian payroll regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience working with outsourced payroll vendors and managing issue resolution
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities with a high level of attention to detail
- Experience supporting payroll activities related to mergers and acquisitions and/or global payroll operations is a plus
Compensation & Schedule
- Salary: $100,000–$120,000 annually
