Sr. FP&A Manager, Corporate Finance

About the role

We are a high-growth med tech company preparing for IPO, and we're looking for a hands-on Senior FP&A Manager, Corporate Finance, to join our Finance team. You will own the full P&L consolidation — bringing together Revenue, COGS, and OPEX from across the business — while directly building our cash flow and balance sheet forecasts, and partner directly with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver insights that drive real decisions.

This is the seat where the forecasting and reporting infrastructure gets built. It is high impact, high visibility, and deliberately broad: you'll be exposed to nearly every part of Finance, and your numbers go straight to the executive team and the board.

This position is based in our Corporate Headquarters in Redwood City, CA and is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of two days per week in the office. Relocation assistance is not being offered for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 7–10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, or related roles, ideally spanning both high-growth/private and public-company environments. Experience in a smaller or mid-sized organization (typically under ~1,000 employees), with broad exposure to and ownership across the full P&L rather than a narrow business segment, is strongly preferred.Full P&L ownership and cash/balance sheet forecasting: you've consolidated revenue, COGS, and OPEX into one view, surfacing EBITDA and operating margin. Just as important — you've personally built forward-looking forecasts (not historical reporting) for both cash flow/cash burn and the balance sheet and can walk through the drivers behind each.
• Master-level Excel and hands-on financial modeling expertise: you've personally built full P&L models and driver-based revenue, cost/COGS, balance sheet, and/or cash flow models, and can clearly distinguish what you built from what you inherited. When you encounter a problem you haven’t solved before, you proactively find the answer - including leveraging AI and other tools - rather than treating it as a blocker.
• A track record of pushing back on a business partner who missed a target, then proposing and negotiating a resolution - not just escalating the miss.
• Demonstrated ownership under ambiguity: you've built a process, model, or tool that didn't exist before and driven its adoption, and you've delivered on a hard deadline despite a non-responsive partner or an unexpected roadblock — without treating either as an excuse.
• A standard of independent accountability: you've operated where your numbers faced real external scrutiny and consequence for being wrong — whether that's SOX controls and external reporting at a public company, an annual audit, or board/investor-level diligence at a private company — and you can describe what it means to own that outcome yourself, not with a team absorbing the risk around you.

What you'll do

• Own the corporate financial model and the full P&L – consolidating Revenue, COGS, and OPEX inputs from business partners into one view; directly building driver-based balance sheet and cash flow forecasts; forecasting cash burn, D&A, SBC, EBITDA, and operating margin; and managing allocations between OPEX and COGS.
• Lead the corporate forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range planning processes, including ownership of the Corporate FP&A Calendar, forecasting templates, key assumptions, deliverables, and cross-functional timelines. 
• Run the quarterly forecast and monthly variance analysis cycles with business partners, with primary ownership of G&A functions, Clinical, and Medical Affairs including reviewing and managing expense accruals to ensure appropriate expense recognition and forecast accuracy. When targets are missed, identify the underlying drivers and recommend a clear path forward—not just report the variance.
• Prepare Board and executive-level financial materials, ensuring forecasts, financial results, KPIs, and supporting analyses are accurate, consistent, and validated across source systems; serve as a reliable source of truth for corporate financial reporting.
• Own FP&A systems and/or templates and drive process improvement, including implementation and ongoing maintenance of FP&A software, automation, and enhancements that improve scalability, efficiency, data integrity, and reporting accuracy.
• Support IPO and public-company readiness by building scalable forecasting, planning, and reporting processes aligned with U.S. GAAP, accrual accounting, corporate policies, and evolving public-company requirements.

This role pays between $180,000 and $195,000 per year, and your actual base pay will depend on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
