Sr. Financial Analyst
pH7 Technologies • Vancouver, British Columbia • Full Time
Posted on Sat, May 16, 2026
Positioned at the intersection of sustainability, technology, and critical resource recovery, pH7 Technologies is tackling urgent global challenges in mining and metal recycling by providing innovative closed-loop metal extraction processes. We are a dynamic, fast-paced company driven by a culture of innovation and collaboration. Our team is committed to attracting and retaining top, diverse talent who share our vision of building a better, cleaner planet.
Job Summary
pH7 Technologies is scaling a proprietary technology platform that recovers high-value metals from two distinct markets: recycling spent catalysts and other materials (with our first commercial plant operating in Vancouver and the next in development) and unlocking value from mining ores through a novel heap leach process. As we advance our pipeline of mining partners, develop our next commercial recycling plant, and prepare for the next stage of corporate growth, we are building the analytical capability required to evaluate opportunities, frame strategic decisions, and support commercial and corporate execution.
The Senior Analyst/Associate, Finance & Strategy is the senior analytical partner to the VP Strategy and to pH7's commercial and corporate leadership - owning the financial models and analytics that underpin project investment decisions, BD targeting, and corporate strategy. It is a high-leverage role with broad exposure across mining and recycling, sitting at the intersection of commercial strategy, project economics, and corporate finance, and reporting to the VP Strategy with close working relationships across Finance, the Heads of Mining and Recycling, the Mining Project Director, and the VP Business Development.
What You'll Do
Project and Business Case Economics
- Build and maintain financial models and techno-economic assessments for pH7 opportunities across mining and recycling
- Lead mining project evaluations with the rigor expected of mining valuation — resource categories, staged capex, standard mining methods
- Build business cases for the next commercial recycling plant and future plants
Commercial Analytics
- Use Wood Mackenzie and comparable data sources to identify and prioritize mining sites with the highest value from pH7's process
- Size opportunities and build the financial framing for pitches and partner conversations
- Support BD targeting and commercial strategy with data-driven analysis
Corporate Financial Modelling and FP&A Support
- Support Finance and Strategy on the 10-year financial model, fundraising materials, and budget-to-actual analysis
- Provide ad-hoc strategic modelling across the business as needs arise
What You’ll Need
- Undergraduate degree in finance, engineering, economics, or a related discipline; CFA, MBA, or equivalent considered an asset.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in mining-focused investment banking, equity research, corporate or business development at a mining company, or a mining-focused consulting or advisory firm.
- Strong financial modelling skills, with demonstrated experience valuing mining projects and operations — including familiarity with resource and reserve classifications, staged capital structures, and standard mining valuation methods (NAV, DCF, comparables).
- Comfort building business cases and techno-economic assessments for capital projects, integrating commercial, operational, and technical inputs.
- Working familiarity with mining industry data sources (Wood Mackenzie, S&P, or similar) and the ability to translate market data into actionable commercial insight.
- Genuine engagement with AI tools and a builder's mindset toward leveraged workflows — comfortable using AI in daily analytical work, with curiosity and capability to develop automated workflows over time (e.g., ingesting Wood Mackenzie data into standard models, accelerating model development, scaling analytical output). Prior workflow-building experience an asset; appetite to learn is essential.
- Strong commercial instincts — able to move beyond the model to frame the strategic question, structure the analysis, and communicate the answer clearly to senior decision-makers.
- Excellent written and visual communication skills, with the ability to produce board- and investor-quality outputs.
- Self-directed and pragmatic operator suited to a scaling technology company — comfortable with ambiguity, able to prioritize across competing demands, and willing to own work end-to-end.
