How will you make an impact?
The Senior Financial Analyst – Business Finance will be a key member of the Clinical Sequencing Division finance team, supporting the medium- and long-term decision making that shapes CSD’s growth and strategic positioning. Reporting to the Director of Business Finance, this role will provide analytical support across product, R&D, marketing, medical and scientific affairs, and strategy-related topics, while also serving as the lead finance partner to CSD’s $100M Companion Diagnostics (CDx) business.
This role is designed for a finance professional who can combine strong analytical capability with business curiosity and sound judgment. Approximately 60% of the role will support the broader product business through analysis that informs strategic choices, investment prioritization, and planning. The remaining 40% will support the CDx business directly, including partnership on deal economics, planning processes, and financial visibility across the business. This structure provides meaningful opportunity to build business-partnering skills in a focused business environment while contributing to the broader strategic finance agenda of CSD.
What will you do?
- Support the Director, Finance – Business Finance with analysis related to product strategy, R&D investment, portfolio priorities, roadmap tradeoffs, market opportunity, and long-range planning
- Build financial models, scenarios, and decision-support analyses to help evaluate strategic options and resource allocation choices
- Translate business, market, product, and financial data into clear insights and recommendations for leadership
- Support strategic planning processes, including AOP and STRAP, through analysis, modeling, and preparation of supporting materials
- Partner with Product Management, R&D, PMO, Marketing, Medical & Scientific Affairs, and Strategy / Market Intelligence teams on selected projects and analyses
Companion Diagnostics (CDx) Finance Partnership
- Serve as the lead finance partner to the $100M CDx business, supporting business leaders with financial planning, performance analysis, and decision support
- Support the financial evaluation of new CDx opportunities, including deal modeling, contract economics, pricing considerations, risk assessment, and key financial terms for long-term pharma partnerships
- Advise on financial implications of contract structures and business strategies before agreements are signed
- Lead CDx finance support for MBR, QBR, AOP, and STRAP processes
- Provide financial visibility into CDx revenue, costs, profitability, and key business drivers
- Coordinate with the Costa Rica shared service center resource responsible for contract financial administration to help ensure accurate and timely execution of CDx financials after contract signature
- Partner closely with the COE resource on project financial tracking, revenue and cost recognition, and contract-related reporting, while maintaining overall visibility to CDx business performance
- Help identify risks, opportunities, and process improvement needs across the CDx financial workflow
Analytics and Future of Finance
- Leverage dashboards, digital tools, and AI-enabled approaches to improve analysis, reporting, and decision support
- Help simplify manual work, improve data quality, and strengthen the finance support model for a growing and evolving business
- Contribute to a more modern finance capability through stronger analytics, automation, and business storytelling
How will you get here?
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
Experience
- 4+ years of relevant experience in FP&A, business finance, strategic finance, commercial finance, or related analytical roles
- Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and business analysis
- Experience working in a matrixed business environment preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to connect financial analysis to business drivers and strategic choices
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large and sometimes ambiguous data sets
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and build effective partnerships without direct authority
- Strong attention to detail, good judgment, and ability to balance rigor with pragmatism
- Interest in product, market, and strategy questions in addition to core finance work
- Experience with dashboards, visualization tools, and financial systems preferred
- Interest in automation, digital tools, and AI-enabled finance preferred

• Less than 10% domestic/international travel required
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $103,100.00–$150,000.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
