Sr. Finance Analyst / Accountant

REAL ALLOY is the market leader in third-party aluminum recycling and specification alloy production.  Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, we have 16 plants strategically located across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.  We convert aluminum scrap and by-products into reusable aluminum metal for a growing number of applications across various industries. Advanced technologies enable us to process a large variety of scrap and dross and reduce the amount of residual waste from aluminum manufacturing that would otherwise end up as landfill.

Responsibilities

Purpose of the role

The Sr. Finance Analyst/Accountant supports business operations through the preparation of annual budgets for various departments and business teams, as well as through analysis of key business information and drivers.

• The Sr. Finance Analyst / Accountant I conducts in-depth financial analysis, including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Develop detailed financial models, forecasts, and budgets to predict performance and support strategic initiatives.
• Variance Analysis & Reporting: Monitor budget adherence, analyze P&L statements, and create comprehensive reports to explain financial trends.
• Assist in annual budget preparation and regularly monitor budget adherence, identifying areas for cost optimization.
• Lead the physical inventory audit processes including, but not limited to: pulling test samples, coordinating with the auditor, reconciliation of inventory.
• Manage Fixed assets for the site from implementation to completion for proper accounting
• Assist in preparation of Capital Project approvals, project management.
• KPI Development: Define and track key performance indicators to assess company financial health.
• Process Improvement: Review and optimize accounting systems, internal controls, and workflows for efficiency.

Qualifications

• The Sr. Finance Analyst / Accountant I requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience. (Finance, Accounting, Business)
• Audit Experience a plus
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• 2+ years in finance or accounting, with experience in forecasting and analysis.
• Ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
• Proven ability to problem solve, and multi-task.
• Ability to influence and work with all levels of employees.
• Strong ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex modeling), financial software (e.g., ERP systems). Experience with Oracle/ Oracle Cloud preferred.
