Basic Purpose
Supports the enhancement of the Corporate Compliance Program with a primary concentration on Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) compliance. Supports the marketing (resource optimization) and transmission departments in addition to various departments, as needed, to ensure that compliance obligations are met.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains an effective FERC compliance program as outlined in the compliance plan and compliance policy.
- Responds to compliance related questions from business units and provides guidance regarding which processes and controls are needed to meet FERC compliance obligations.
- Develops, enhances and maintains FERC Compliance procedures, FERC related business processes, and general operation of the compliance program.
- Conducts compliance reviews and risk assessments to assess compliance with FERC’s regulations as outlined in processes and procedures.
- Develops and implements corrective action plans for resolution of potential concerns and enhancement of compliance.
- Remains up-to-date regarding current and proposed FERC regulations and advises business units regarding the compliance impact and related implementation requirements.
- Monitors filing due dates and works with business units to ensure compliance with FERC filing obligations such as forms, compliance filings required by the FERC and other regulatory filing obligations.
- Supports management’s efforts related to compliance with the FERC Standards of Conduct by maintaining the list of marketing function employees and transmission function employees, attending meetings where both classifications of employees will be present, and responding to Standards of Conduct questions posed by the business units.
- Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.

Qualifications
Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited school and 6 years of related compliance or audit experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of various marketing, transmission or accounting areas of a regulated utility. Demonstrated general knowledge of FERC regulations. Demonstrated ability to conduct internal reviews of business processes and transactions, work collaboratively with business units, and handle a high level of confidentiality. Demonstrated knowledge of applicable FERC policies, orders, and reporting requirements. Demonstrated ability to draft policies and procedures relating to FERC regulations and to work with business units to implement policies and procedures. Demonstrated written and verbal communication, time-management, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
General office environment. No special physical demands required. Some travel required.
