Job Description
The Credit Analyst 6 role sits within Equipment Finance – Large Ticket Credit Underwriting, supporting the vendor channel. The team underwrites credit requests sourced through third-party vendors, operating in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment with accelerated turnaround expectations.
This position is responsible for evaluating and underwriting equipment finance transactions, typically with exposures exceeding $1MM. This role requires strong credit judgment, the ability to quickly assess risk, and the capability to deliver clear, well-structured credit recommendations with limited direct borrower interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Underwriting & Risk Assessment
- Underwrite equipment finance credit requests submitted through vendor channels
- Analyze financial statements, credit packages, and supporting documentation to assess risk
- Identify key risks and mitigating factors; assign appropriate internal risk ratings
Credit Memo & Decision Support
- Prepare credit memoranda in nCino, ranging from streamlined summaries to comprehensive packages based on deal complexity
- Develop clear, concise, and decision-ready recommendations for credit approvers
- Prepare pre-screen summaries to support efficient senior-level decisioning
Pipeline & Deal Management
- Manage multiple transactions simultaneously
- Prioritize workload to meet deadlines and support timely deal execution
- Operate effectively in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner closely with sales teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to move deals forward
- Communicate proactively on deal status, timelines, and potential issues
- Work with internal support teams (e.g., financial spreading teams) to resolve questions and ensure progress
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically six or more years of relevant experience
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience in commercial credit underwriting or financial analysis
- Strong ability to analyze financial statements and assess credit risk
- Prior experience in equipment finance underwriting
- Experience working with vendor-sourced or indirect transactions
- Knowledge of tax return analysis and global cash flow concepts
- Experience using nCino or similar credit platforms
- Exposure to industries such as manufacturing and healthcare
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance speed and accuracy
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Sound judgment with the ability to escalate issues appropriately
- Experience with nCino or similar credit underwriting platforms
- Microsoft Excel and other Office tools
- Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Copilot) to enhance efficiency is a plus
Location expectations
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week. This position can be located at any of the locations listed on the posting.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. Pay Range: $105,400.00 - $124,000.00U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
