Job Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, including preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, assisting with month-end close, and ensuring accurate financial information and reporting. This position mainly focuses on content costs, residuals, and ancillary distribution of content.Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations and Close
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and support schedules.
- Support monthly, quarterly and annual close processes.
- Investigate and explain actual trend variances and actual vs. forecast variances.
- Perform internal controls and ensure proper documentation.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, schedules and responding to inquiries.
- Work with other departments, such as IT, operations and marketing on accounting and reporting matters.
- Participate in process improvements and system enhancements.
- Support special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed.
Finance Partnership
- Coordinate with FP&A on budget-to-actual and forecast-to-actual comparisons.
- Collaborate with FP&A on budgets and forecasts.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 2+ years of progressive accounting experience (mix of public and industry preferred).
- Some knowledge of internal controls and framework.
- Strong communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel.
Compensation
$80,000 - $90,000
