I. Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant supports the mission, vision and values of the organization by overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, providing support to management team members, demonstrating excellence in professional competence, collaboration, communication.
II. Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provides oversight and support for accounts payable and payroll activities.
- Monitors the process turnaround time for payable.
- Completes files audits to ensure completeness, adherence to compliance protocols and reporting accuracy.
- Ensures that all payroll activities abide by company policies and procedures.
III. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reconciles pharmacy sales reports and records pharmacy revenue.
- Records prepaid and depreciation expenses.
- Reconciles all bank statements.
- Prepares and files the Sales and Use Tax Reports.
- Records all deposits.
- Works with the Procurement Specialist to maintain and update the fixed assets inventory.
- Works with the CFO to identify the important dates and the activities that must be completed.
- Works with the finance team to ensure that all outstanding invoices and receipts have been collected.
- Ensures all cash accounts and journal entries are appropriately recorded.
- Validates the accuracy of the inventory accounts.
- Ensures that your recorded transactions match evidence from invoices and receipts.
- Reconciles the prior year accounts receivable and payable, updating the listing with current end-of-year data as appropriate.
Qualifications
IV. Required Education, Certifications, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Sales and Use Tax
- Proficient with all aspects of Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Competency to learn processes quickly and apply knowledge to open projects.
- Capacity to work in a fast-paced, multi-company environment.
- Highly detail-oriented and well organized
- Thorough understanding of accounting and financial report principles and practices
V. Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 3-5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience in the health care industry.
