About the Role
We're a fast-growing, multi-location HVAC and plumbing services organization, and our Finance team is the engine behind disciplined growth. We're looking for a Corporate Senior Accountant who can own the integrity of our financial processes across multiple brands and locations — someone who is equally comfortable closing the books on time and finding the better way to do it.
This is a high-visibility role for an accountant who thrives in a service-and-construction environment, knows the difference clean reconciliations make, and wants to help build scalable processes as the business grows. If you've worked across multiple locations in the construction or home services space, live for a tight month-end close, and get satisfaction out of streamlining what's messy, we want to talk to you.
RequirementsWhat You'll Do
Financial Reporting
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and industry-specific regulations.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
- Deliver financial analysis and detailed variance reporting that surfaces trends, risks, and opportunities for management.
General Ledger Management
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness in posting transactions.
- Reconcile all accounts monthly — including bank accounts, AR/AP, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Lead and support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring a timely and accurate close.
Inventory & Asset Management
- Track and manage inventory levels for HVAC and plumbing materials, ensuring proper accounting and control of stock.
- Oversee fixed asset accounting, including accurate capitalization, depreciation, and disposal of assets.
Compliance & Audit Support
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations, including tax filings and industry-specific requirements.
- Support preparation for internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and reports.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices within the department.
- Partner closely with operations and procurement to improve job costing accuracy and financial reporting.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 4-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the HVAC, plumbing, or broader construction industries.
- Multi-location experience in the construction or service industry, with heavy reconciliation experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience with job costing, WIP reporting, and revenue recognition in service-based industries.
- Proficiency in accounting software / ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
