Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the entire payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payroll execution for all employees.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulations.
Process payroll-related changes, including new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and benefit deductions.
Lead and manage the payroll team, providing training and support as needed.
Review and reconcile payroll reports to ensure accuracy in earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefits.
Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure proper employee classification and payroll funding.
Administer payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with IRS and state tax agencies.
Handle payroll audits, reporting, and year-end processing, including W-2 and 1099 preparation.
Manage relationships with third-party payroll providers and vendors.
Address employee payroll inquiries and resolve any payroll discrepancies promptly.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of payroll management experience, preferably in a multi-state or large-scale organization.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll systems (ADP, Workday, or similar), Microsoft Excel, and accounting software.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and wage & hour laws.
Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Certifications: CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation is a plus
