We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Product Management and Development to join our Tax team Enterprise Custody Servicing Tax team. This role is located in Dublin and is hybrid.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Contribute to the tax services product strategy in Germany, specifically around support for Spezialfonds.
- Execute on one of the largest transformational deals in the industry by defining the operating model and leading through the entire development lifecycle
- Vendor Oversight: Lead daily oversight of outsourced tasks to our third‑party tax vendors (Big Four firms); manage SLAs, KPIs, issue tracking, and audit readiness for services provided by vendors within your remit.
- Client management: Assist stakeholders in client-facing interaction as well as leading direct day-to-day discussions with clients.
- Process & Reporting Excellence: Set up, monitor, and continuously improve tax and regulatory reporting processes, including the IT/data infrastructure and interfaces required for efficient reporting.
- Market Changes & Thought Leadership: Monitor, analyze, and report on new tax developments, legislation and guidance from tax authorities that may impact our product set. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to communicate changes which may lead to product gaps and operational issues.
- Provide timely updates to business partners, including Risk and Compliance partners.
- Work in a multi-disciplined team located across various time-zones.
- Represent BNY in relevant tax industry working group meetings as necessary.
- 5+ years of relevant German tax experience, ideally German CPA (StB) and Big-4 background.
- Fluency in German and English (spoken and written).
- Deep expertise across Financial Services Tax, Asset Management, German Tax Law, Investmentsteuergesetz, Spezialfonds, European Fund Tax Reporting, Alternative Investments, German Regulatory Law.
- A Plus: Withholding Tax (WHT) reclaim processes for German dividend income (local tax office/BZSt), including documentation management and deadline tracking.
- Proven client‑delivery ownership with end-to-end planning, prioritization, and execution of tax deliverables, and strong stakeholder management (clients, custodians, vendors, internal teams).
- Demonstrated vendor management experience overseeing outsourced tax services (Big-4) with robust governance.
- Experienced in working with business and technology architecture. Able to explain strategic concepts to audiences.
- Sharp analytical judgment for assessing changes in legislation and regulation and their impact on fund processes; excellent written communication for technical position papers.
- Senior-level communication and leadership skills; ability to provide functional leadership, mentoring, and cross‑functional collaboration.
