JOB OVERVIEW
The Senior Trust Tax Officer role is designed to assist in managing and overseeing the tax-related activities for trust accounts. This position involves preparing documentation, maintaining records, assisting in the preparation of tax returns, and ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws.
JOB DUTIES
Tax Compliance and Reporting
- Gathers and organizes financial data and documentation needed for tax return preparation.
- Manages and reviews tax provisions and ensures accurate and timely reporting of tax-related financial information.
- Maintains accurate and detailed records of all trust tax-related activities and communications.
- Updates and manages electronic and paper filing systems to ensure easy retrieval of information.
- Provides brokerage statement review.
Tax Team Support
- Provides leadership to other members of the tax team including technical tax guidance, promoting continuous learning and development, and promoting collaboration.
- Prepares and distributes correspondence, reports, and other documents as needed.
- Assists with special projects and initiatives as needed.
- Communicates with CPA partners and trust administration to gather necessary information and documentation for timely submission of tax returns.
- Addresses inquiries and provides information related to trust taxes.
- Assists with IRS and other department of revenue inquiries and notices.
EDUCATION & JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, tax, finance, or accounting
Experience: 7-10 years’ experience in tax, finance, or accounting

CERTIFICATION
CPA preferred
