Here are the main responsibilities: ·- Support the preparation, review and analysis of U.S. tax provisions, including current and deferred tax under IFRS, while ensuring accurate balances and appropriate supporting documentation.
- Support U.S.-Canada tax matters, including withholding tax, treaty interpretation and other cross-border issues, by analyzing facts and contributing practical recommendations.
- Support tax due diligence for transactions, reorganizations and strategic initiatives by identifying key issues, risks and opportunities.
- Serve as a trusted resource on U.S. tax matters by providing clear guidance and practical insight to internal partners.
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Actuarial, Investments and other stakeholders to assess implications and support coordinated decision-making.
- Is known for their strong working knowledge in U.S. income tax accounting,
- Stands out for their strong technical expertise and analytical capability in U.S. taxation
- Demonstrates strong judgement and attention to detail in assessing tax issues and supporting well-reasoned conclusions.
- Is recognized for their CPA designation, master's degree in U.S. taxation or another relevant professional qualification
- Has 7 years of experience in U.S. corporate taxation, ideally withing financial institutions, insurance, investments or other complex business environments
