DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare income and franchise tax returns to ensure timely, accurate filings, including creating appropriate level of documentation to support analyses, decisions, and conclusions.
Calculate and provide tax manager with timely and accurate tax payment projections.
Coordinate data collection and perform necessary analysis to prepare accurate, complete and timely tax returns.
Reconcile general ledger income tax payable accounts.
Assist with income tax audit process; prepare responses for audit inquiries and requests for information.
Assist in maintaining internal calendar for all tax filings.
Assist with calculation of effective tax rate, reserves for uncertain positions, & valuation allowances.
Maintain SOX compliance requirements.
Stay current with proposed tax legislation, and analyze new laws and regulations as requested; effectively communicate relevant developments as appropriate.
Effectively delegate tax processing tasks.
Work with business units and other departments to distribute and gather documentation for tax filings; prepare registration applications and tax clearance certificates.
Assist with research, analysis, and implementation of tax planning strategies to reduce the Company’s effective tax rate and minimize cash tax outlay.
Assist the tax research & planning team to ensure accurate and timely compliance reporting of strategic changes.
Perform a review of the work prepared by others for completeness and accuracy.
Assist in validating the completeness and accuracy of legal entity based financial statements.
Develop and foster internal and external business networks to enhance business & industry knowledge.
Manage workload independently by monitoring and meeting all deadlines while frequently apprising other team members of project status and problems encountered.
Conduct ongoing review of existing business processes and tools; identify and implement innovative, technology-based business solutions.
Contribute to a culture of collaboration in which employees demonstrate teamwork, support cross-functional responsibilities, and contribute to the professional development of peers.
Assist in the development and implementation of department policies.
Assist with administrative responsibilities, participate in special projects, and perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- CPA license preferred but not required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Working knowledge of federal & state income taxation
- Big Four or large public accounting firm or large industry tax department experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of ASC 740, complex tax laws and regulations, FASB pronouncements, income tax filing requirements, and generally accepted accounting principles
- Strong computer skills; advanced knowledge of office applications (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook., Access, Powerpoint)
- Advanced knowledge of general ledger tools used at Pulte
- Strong organization and project management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills and research skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet continual deadlines
