Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Tax Processing Specialist to support our tax team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This role is responsible for processing tax returns and related documents, monitoring filing deadlines, resolving processing issues, and providing administrative support to tax professionals and firm leadership.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Review and process a high volume of tax returns and related documents for a variety of client types, including high-net-worth individuals, corporate entities, flow-through entities, nonprofits, etc.
- Resolve processing errors and discrepancies on behalf of clients and tax professionals
- Serve as subject-matter expert for tax processing procedures, supporting staff development and continuous improvement of departmental processes
- Assist management with workload planning and quality control
- Provide top-tier administrative support to tax partners and other firm leaders, including monitoring return statuses and due dates, tracking and meeting filing deadlines, and documenting procedures and process improvements with a proactive and service-oriented approach
- Strong multi-tasking, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work overtime if needed, including evenings and weekends during the tax department’s peak deadline periods
- Foster interdepartmental collaboration and communication to support client service and firm success
Qualifications Required
- 2-4 years of experience in an administrative, project management, or client service role required, experience in a professional services firm preferred
- Demonstrated success operating in a deadline-driven environment with high attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining strong relationships and delivering high-quality results
- Proficiency with computers, copiers, etc., and ability to quickly learn industry-specific software and technology
- Intermediate Microsoft Office experience, specifically in Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite
