HornBill's client, a New York, New York (NY) based publicly traded technology leader seeks a Senior Tax Analyst. The Senior Tax Analyst will be responsible for all tax duties for a division of the company including the preparation and oversight of temporary and permanent differences for the tax provision, preparation of Federal, state, and local income tax returns, sales & use/property tax returns, and related extensions and quarterly payments. Essential Job Functions:
- Be knowledgeable of all tax laws affecting the company
- Review proposals for tax implications and recommend actions
- Involvement with tax implications of mergers and acquisitions, and other special projects
- Assist in researching and implementing various tax planning ideas
- Assist with tax accounting including calculating tax provisions, current and deferred accounts and the maintenance of SFAS 109 balance sheet
- Maintain internal controls in compliance with SOX 404 requirements
- Assist with state and local tax examinations
- Accounting degree
- 2 - 5 years of experience in public accounting and/or industry (Big 4 is a plus)
- CPA and/or MS in Taxation preferred
- Proficiency in key tools (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Proficiency in tax preparation and research tools (OneSource, CCH or RIA)
- Detail-oriented, and strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving skills
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
