The salary rate for this position is $85,000 - 95,000.
Position Summary
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting and financial operations for assigned hotel properties, including accounts receivable, group billing, chargebacks, and daily accounting activities. This role ensures accurate financial processing, timely reconciliations, and operational support across multiple hotel locations.
With the expansion from one hotel to two hotel assignments, the position will provide enhanced operational coverage and improve efficiencies through centralized oversight of key accounting functions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable & Billing
• Manage group billing and ensure timely invoicing and collections.
• Monitor and reconcile accounts receivable balances.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies and guest chargebacks.
• Follow up on outstanding balances and maintain accurate AR aging reports.
Daily Accounting Operations
• Assist with daily revenue and cash reconciliations.
• Support month-end closing activities and journal entries.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and financial support schedules.
• Maintain organized accounting records and documentation.
Operational Support
• Partner with hotel departments to resolve accounting-related issues.
• Provide support for audits and internal control procedures.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
Process Improvement
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and operational efficiency.
• Assist in standardizing accounting processes across properties.
• Support implementation of new accounting procedures and systems.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
3+ years of accounting experience preferred, ideally within hospitality.
• Experience with accounts receivable, billing, and reconciliations.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
Reporting Structure
Reports to: Controller / Director of Finance
Supports: Multiple hotel properties and operational departments
