- Support monthly and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and complex reconciliations (e.g., cash, intercompany, project costs).
- Prepare accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Conduct detailed account reconciliations to ensure financial integrity and resolve discrepancies.
- Lead project accounting initiatives, tracking costs, ensuring compliance, and validating data for energy and data center projects.
- Assist with audit preparation and support internal and external audit activities.
- Serve as a Sage Intacct power user, optimizing workflows, configurations, and core modules (GL, AP, AR, Project Accounting, Cash Management, Reporting) to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Identify and implement improvements to existing Sage Intacct processes, reducing manual work and streamlining financial operations (e.g., AP, AR, budgeting, and reporting) for clients, including data centers.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to integrate Sage Intacct with other systems (e.g., project management or BI tools) for seamless data flow.
- Develop and maintain custom reports and dashboards in Sage Intacct to provide real-time, actionable insights for leadership, particularly for data center project accounting.
- Train incoming accounting team members and cross-functional teams on Sage Intacct best practices and optimized workflows.
- Enhance internal controls, workflows, and documentation to align with optimized Sage Intacct processes.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to improve accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.
- Support tax compliance, including sales tax reconciliations and state registrations.
- Maintain clear documentation of accounting processes and Sage Intacct configurations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or proven work experience.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting in a corporate or project-based environment.
- Proficiency with ERP systems; experience optimizing workflows and financial reporting within the system.
- Solid understanding of GAAP principles and internal controls.
- Proficiency with general journal and general ledger transactions.
- Advanced Excel skills, including data reconciliation and analysis.
- Experience with month-end and year-end close processes and account reconciliations.
- Master’s Degree in Accounting or CPA certification (or CPA-track).
- Expertise in Sage Intacct
- Background in multi-entity or international currency accounting.
- Familiarity with system integrations (e.g., project management tools like Procore, BI platforms, or tax compliance tools).
- Experience building reports or dashboards in Sage Intacct or BI tools to support leadership decision-making.
- Leadership or mentoring experience, such as guiding junior staff or cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of project-based accounting (e.g., job costing, WIP reporting) in energy, utility, or related industries.
- Experience training teams on ERP workflows or financial processes.
