Senior Staff Accountant

Are you an accounting professional who enjoys variety in your day, digging into the details, and helping operations run smoothly behind the scenes? Caldwell Energy is looking for an Accounting Analyst / Staff Accountant to join our growing team in Shelbyville, Kentucky.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the technical side of accounting and the business side of operations. You’ll work closely with leadership and play a key role in monthly financial reporting, payroll, reconciliations, billing support, collections, and process improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and analyze account reconciliations as part of the month-end close process
• Process weekly payroll
• Prepare journal entries and support monthly financial statement reporting
• Review monthly billings and pay applications
• Assist with accounts receivable and collections activities
• Prepare sales and use tax accruals and filings
• Ensure subcontractor invoices are processed accurately and on time
• Prepare daily financial and operational reports
• Support process improvement initiatives and special projects
• Collaborate with operations and leadership teams across the business

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience preferred
• CPA is a plus, but not required
• Strong Excel and accounting software skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities
• Professional communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
