Key Responsibilities
- Manage project accounting for multiple construction projects simultaneously
- Perform detailed job costing, cost tracking, and variance analysis
- Handle project setup, including budgets, cost codes, and contract documentation
- Prepare monthly AIA billing and support all project billing activities
- Assist with developing and updating project budgets and forecasts
- Work closely with project managers to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Review and reconcile project expenses, subcontractor billings, and change orders
- Support month-end close activities related to project financials
- Provide documentation and analysis for internal and external audits
- Monitor compliance with accounting policies, project controls, and contract requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 3+ years of project accounting experience in the construction industry (required)
- Strong understanding of job costing, cost accounting, and project financial cycles
- Experience with AIA billing formats and construction billing processes
- CPA certification a plus
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and construction accounting software (e.g., Viewpoint, Sage, Procore, or similar)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
