About the Company: A growing manufacturing operation located in Western New York.
About the Job: The Senior Procurement Specialist will lead the procurement of machined and COTS components, outside services and raw materials to support production of shock/vibration mitigation and recoil suppression hydraulic assemblies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Procurement/Purchasing and supplier development for components of custom engineered and standard products.
- Inventory and Cost Control. Implementation of min/max or safety stock stocking process.
- Investigate and resolve the expediting of parts for quality or delivery concerns.
- Convert demand signals into Purchase Orders for outside services, establishing accurate order quantities based on direction from Management.
- Place and send Purchase Orders for required materials.
- Review and reconcile Purchase Orders and invoices with the Purchasing and Finance departments.
- Communicate with internal departments regarding quality, delivery, or price concerns.
- Assist in the research, development, and qualifications of suppliers and supply chain partners.
- Maintain supplier relationships and evaluations and resolve supplier grievances or disputes.
- Work with supplier management groups to analyze market trends and assess supplier capabilities.
- Actively tracks price changes and on-time delivery performance of suppliers and outside service providers.
- Communicate with suppliers to manage the supply chain within their capacity and lead times.
- Validate ISO certifications annually per purchasing procedures.
- Help develop and maintain a positive atmosphere.
- Report to management periodically progress regarding inventory status (levels and turns), and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in business, supply chain Finance or related field, combined with a minimum of 3 years direct experience in a Purchasing, Procurement, and Supply Chain Management capacity for a manufacturing company.
- Certification in APICS, Purchasing or Supply Chain is preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- MRP and inventory skills.
- Good negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
- Quality systems understanding, specifically ISO 9001:2015.
- Health and safety standards and compliance.
- Solid computer skills and proficient with MS Office Products.
- Candidate must be an energetic, team player, self-starter with uncompromising ethical character.
- Enjoy relationship building with Suppliers and inter-company personnel.
Compensation: $80,000+
