We are seeking a talented individual to join our North America Payroll team at Marsh. This role will be based in Louisville and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.
As a Senior Payroll Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of our payroll operations – serving as a go-to Subject Matter Expert across complex, high-impact functions. You’ll leverage cutting-edge HRMS platforms and third-party vendors to deliver seamless end-to-end payroll processing while upholding federal, state, and local regulatory standards. Beyond the day-to-day, you’ll lead special projects, drive continuous process improvement through evolving SOPs, and use data-driven insights to consistently meet or exceed Service Level Agreements. We will count on you to:
- Utilizes HRMS software and/or 3rd Party Vendor to effectively manage the day-to-day processing of employee payroll
- Audit employee data to ensure compliance with federal/country, state/provincial, and local payroll laws
- Review new hires, rehires, and transfers entered into the payroll system for accuracy utilizing peer review process
- Analyze and execute assignments with advanced complexity, sensitivity, and/or risk while serving as a designated Subject Matter Expert for more complex unique duties and functions supporting more junior roles
- Lead/support special projects of a more complex nature assigned by Supervisor and/or Manager
- Ensure documentation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are kept up to date as procedures change and creating new SOPs as needed
- Administer the execution of day-to-day operational tasks, case load evaluation and quality assurance, bringing issues to the attention the Supervisor and Manager as needed.
- Peer reviews payroll entries to ensure accuracy of data entry and reports concerns Supervisor and/or Manager when issues are identified and/or escalated
- Update earnings, taxes, and voluntary and involuntary deductions for appropriate payroll cycle(s) by data entry into HRMS system and/or 3rd Party Vendor
- Utilize data and reporting from work management tools to ensure that Service Level Agreements are met or exceeded, providing timely service and quality problem resolution

- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
- Exceptional customer service skills and mindset
- Experience meeting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience problem solving and possesses the ability to work independently
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
