UW Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Payroll Accounting Analyst – Payroll Accounting to join its Financial Reporting Team.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Senior Payroll Accounting Analyst – Payroll Accounting will provide support for internal and external audit requests related to payroll and benefits accounting.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for managing monthly payroll accounting entries and FTE calculations, ensuring accuracy of UW Medicine’s payroll accruals and accruals for a variety of compensated absences, including vacation, sick, and holiday time.
- Ensures compliance with accounting standards, delivers timely and accurate reporting, supports Workday payroll processes, and partners with internal stakeholders to validate data and support financial decision‑making.
- Plays an active role in supporting Workday Release Testing to validate payroll and financial impacts as well as other ad-hoc analysis, reporting and data validation.
- Ensures that ledger data is delivered, with consistent classification, to the financial reporting tools.
- Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for payroll business system process improvement initiatives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
- 6+ years of experience with payroll accounting and FTE reporting
- Advanced Excel and Access skills for large-volume data analysis
