About Hy-Vee

At Hy-Vee, we believe the shortest distance between two people is a smile. We’re seeking professionals who bring proven skills, a desire to grow, and a commitment to work together in building a company that strives to make our customers’ lives easier, healthier and happier.

The Role and Why It’s Important

As Senior Manager of Tax at Hy-Vee, you lead both the indirect tax and corporate income tax functions for a large, multi-state retail operation, staying close to the technical work while managing and developing the team responsible for day-to-day tax compliance and administration. You bring deep tax expertise across sales and use tax, excise tax, and multi-state corporate income tax, and you apply that expertise hands-on to ensure Hy-Vee meets its obligations accurately, on time, and in full compliance with applicable law. Your work protects the company from risk, supports sound financial decision-making, and ensures leadership has a clear, accurate picture of our tax position at all times. If you’re a seasoned tax professional who thrives in a complex, multi-state environment, enjoys leading a team while staying engaged in the technical details, and is energized by the breadth of a full-spectrum tax function, this role is a strong fit.
