The organization offers a sophisticated accounting environment with exposure to complex reporting structures, multiple legal entities, and a diverse range of accounting and operational activities.Known for its commitment to employee development and internal mobility, the company has a strong track record of promoting talent from within and providing opportunities for individuals to expand their responsibilities and advance their careers over time.Your New RoleReporting to the Senior Director, Corporate Accounting, the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting will assume a key leadership position within the finance organization and serve as one of the most senior accounting professionals supporting the corporate accounting function. This is a highly visible role that combines technical accounting leadership, operational oversight, and team management within a complex commercial real estate environment. The successful candidate will oversee corporate reporting activities across multiple legal entities, including consolidated financial reporting, month-end and year-end close processes, budgeting, forecasting, tax compliance, treasury-related activities, and audit coordination.A significant portion of the role is dedicated to financial reporting and technical accounting oversight. The Senior Manager will review financial statements, reporting packages, account reconciliations, consolidation procedures, intercompany transactions, and financial analyses while ensuring reporting deadlines are met accurately and consistently. The role also includes responsibility for annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, corporate tax compliance processes, sales tax filings, cash forecasting, and supporting external audit requirements.From an operational perspective, the Senior Manager will oversee key accounting processes including billings, collections, recoverability reviews, approvals, and the overall effectiveness of the corporate accounting function. Working closely with stakeholders across property accounting, operations, asset management, and other business groups, this individual will ensure accurate financial information is delivered to support decision-making throughout the organization. Leadership is an important component of the position. The successful candidate will manage a team of accounting professionals, providing coaching, technical guidance, mentorship, and support while helping team members continue to develop their skills and grow within the organization. This role is best suited for a hands-on leader who enjoys troubleshooting complex issues, supporting team development, and balancing technical accounting responsibilities with operational leadership.The position also offers the opportunity to contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and ongoing enhancements to reporting and accounting workflows as the organization continues to evolve.What Sets You ApartYou bring a CPA designation along with progressive accounting experience gained within commercial real estate, property management, or a similarly complex multi-entity environment. You possess a strong foundation in corporate accounting, financial reporting, consolidations, and month-end close management and have experience overseeing the preparation and review of financial statements and supporting schedules. You have demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing accounting professionals and are recognized for your ability to provide technical guidance, coach team members, and build credibility through both expertise and collaboration.Your background includes exposure to budgeting, forecasting, audit coordination, tax compliance, and operational accounting activities, along with the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment with multiple competing priorities. Experience with recoverability calculations, chargebacks, lease structures, or commercial real estate revenue streams would be considered highly valuable. You are a strong communicator who can build relationships across departments and effectively partner with both financial and non-financial stakeholders. You are known for your attention to detail, critical thinking, sound judgment, and ability to solve problems independently while maintaining a strong customer service mindset. The overall compensation package includes a comprehensive employer-paid benefits program, health spending and wellness allowances, RRSP contributions consisting of a 3% company contribution plus an additional 2% matching program, professional development reimbursement, CPA dues coverage, and ongoing learning opportunities. Additional paid time off includes three weeks of vacation, sick days, and other company-supported wellness programs.Additional InformationThis role will become a hybrid position based in downtown Toronto. The successful candidate will work primarily in the office to support team integration, knowledge transfer, and relationship-building.
