What the Role Is
The Sr. Manager, Corporate Accounting is responsible for leading the monthly close and core accounting operations for Heaven Hill’s U.S. and Global entities. This role oversees a broad range of accounting activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, balance sheet integrity, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
This position operates within a high-volume, multi-entity environment with significant operational complexity, multiple systems, recurring tax compliance requirements, and cross-functional dependencies. The Sr. Manager is responsible for coordinating close activities across the accounting organization, managing competing priorities within compressed timelines, and ensuring financial results are complete, accurate, and audit ready.
The role partners closely with finance leadership and cross-functional teams to improve close efficiency, strengthen internal controls, support process improvements, and maintain scalable accounting operations as the business continues to grow.
How You Will Spend Your Time?
- Oversee and manage the monthly closing process across all entities, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial statements
- Establish and maintain clear ownership of balance sheet accounts and ensure all reconciliations are completed, reviewed, and supported
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial results to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting policies
- Supervise and develop a team of accountants, ensuring appropriate workload distribution and accountability across functional areas
- Drive improvements in close efficiency
- Oversee tax-related accounting processes within the general ledger, including sales and use tax, VAT, GST, and excise taxes, ensuring timely reconciliation and filing compliance
- Support intercompany & consolidations team to ensure accurate intercompany balances, transfer pricing entries, and consolidation processes
- Support financial statement preparation, audit readiness
- Identify and resolve accounting issues, process inefficiencies, and implement sustainable solutions
- Participate in the development, documentation, and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls and standardize processes
- Act as a key liaison between accounting, operations, sales, marketing, IT, and other departments to ensure accurate financial data and proper system functionality
- Support system improvements, including IFS enhancements, automation initiatives, and integration of new business activities or acquisitions
- Participate in strategic initiatives and special projects to support business growth and scalability
