Who are we hiring?
The Senior Manager of Accounting will be responsible for oversight of the accounting processes for related to venue operations, including Event Operations and Food, Beverage & Merchandise (“F&M”), currently related to Sphere in Las Vegas. This includes responsibility for the maintenance and operation of the company’s venues and all event specific expenses, including inventory management. The financial responsibilities of this position include general accounting functions (book close, etc.), ensuring that the appropriate internal controls are in place, and financial analyses of results, primarily as compared to the prior year, including such related to inventory at the venue.
What will you do?
The Senior Manager of Accounting will be responsible for all aspects of accounting related to Venue Operations including facilities operations, F&M, and Event Operations including event specific labor and expenses, including those related to inventory and COGS. More specific tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Management of Sphere’s monthly book close process which includes the timely and accurate reporting of financial results, including all F&M revenue/COGS.
- Proper accounting and oversight of all event related expenses, including internal labor.
- Review of residency consignment merchandise settlements.
- Responsibility for inventory reconciliation process with operations.
- Responsibility for ASC 842 lease accounting across the Company.
- Preparation, review, approval, and posting of manual journal entries to the General Ledger.
- Review and approval of monthly sales tax payments and filings for several businesses across multiple jurisdictions, including assisting tax department with sales tax audit requests as applicable.
- Coordination of responses to external and internal audit requests.
- Maintenance of effective internal controls, including compliance with SOX 404.
- Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.

- Experience in monthly analysis reporting and monthly closes required.
- Experience with inventory management systems and processes preferred.
- Must have strong Microsoft Excel skills, with preferred experience in Oracle HCM, Oracle EBS / Fusion, and Coupa applications.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically.
- Solid public accounting experience in managing multiple resources/projects simultaneously, preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a CPA License strongly preferred.

2 Direct Reports with a total team of 3 professionals, with additional oversight from the Controller’s Group
