As a Senior Manager, Finance – Accounting Policy, you’ll gain a true bird’s-eye view of the organization, supporting Canadian & US P&C while collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders across Capital Markets, Global Markets, Wealth, and beyond. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging role where no two questions are the same, think loan loss provisions, capital markets, and emerging accounting issues, with a strong emphasis on research, analysis, and practical problem-solving rather than journal entries or month-end close. You’ll build your brand and network through regular interaction with senior executives, lead memo writing and IFRS-based analysis (including IFRS 9 & ECL), and help shape how the bank interprets and applies complex accounting standards. Ideal candidates bring a CPA designation, strong technical accounting expertise (especially in financial services), advanced Excel skills, and a proven ability to translate ambiguity into clear, actionable insights. Ensures high risk/complex accounting transactions are compliant with accounting regulations and financial information is disclosed appropriately in the Bank’s financial statements. Acts as part of the support team advising on accounting guidelines and accounting policy strategies and programs. Supports aspects of accounting management by providing value added ideas, advice and recommendations to improve quality and overall effectiveness. Provides guidance and advice on significant and complex transactions and issues that impact the business.

Salary:

$94,600.00 - $176,000.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
