- Review bank policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls.
- Lead audits including planning, fieldwork, testing, and/or reviewing workpapers.
- Prepare workpapers in accordance with audit standards, which record and summarize audit procedures performed.
- Assess design and operating effectiveness of internal controls.
- Ensure audit work aligns with regulatory guidance and IIA requirements.
- Prepare audit reports for management and the Audit Committee.
- Conduct exit meetings with management at the end of each audit.
- Conduct follow-up reviews of financial, operational, or regulatory findings, as noted during audits.
- Validate remediation and advise management on control improvements.
- Contribute to the annual risk-based internal audit plan.
- Assist with ERM risk assessments, KRIs, and risk reporting, as needed.
- Provide control guidance during new product, system, or process change without impairing independence.
- Create and manage audit tracking report for all audit/exam findings, as determined by external audits, internal audits, and exams.
- Conduct investigations of irregularities discovered by or brought to the auditor's attention.
- Review cash controls procedures and monitor safeguarding of assets, all locations annually.
- Coordinate and support the functions of the external auditors.
Perform all job functions in compliance with the requirements of banking laws and regulations. Perform other duties as required by supervisory personnel.The Right Person
- 5 - 7 years successful experience in audit, risk, or controls in an FDIC insured environment.
- Strong knowledge of community-bank operations, risk, and regulatory expectations.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office and other PC applications.
- Ability to build and maintain working relationships with team members and stakeholders.
- CIA, CPA, or CISA certification strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
