POSITION SUMMARY The Senior, Indirect Tax is responsible for leading all aspects of indirect taxes (sales and use taxes, value-added taxes, good and services taxes, and other consumption taxes) as well as property taxes, business licenses and other business taxes.  This requires an ability to adapt in a versatile environment and partner cross-functionally with key business partners (FP&A, IT, Sales, Services, Revenue, Ops, etc.) to develop and refine global processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Lead and manage indirect tax audits and inquiries, ensuring a smooth and efficient process while minimizing financial risk

Design, prepare, and review monthly indirect tax reports

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual indirect tax returns

Prepare and review monthly tax general ledger account reconciliations

Maintain in-depth knowledge of indirect tax regulations and develop strategies to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in federal, state, and foreign jurisdictions

Conduct tax research related to products, customers, and new markets

Develop and implement process and tax software improvements to streamline tax functions

Lead cross functional finance projects and provide subject matter expertise

Effectively communicate with all levels of personnel, across functions within the finance organization and with external advisors

Proactively identify indirect tax opportunities and analyze complex tax issues related to the business and independently provide recommendations and solutions to mitigate risk

Proven ability to meet deadlines in a time sensitive environment Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other related fields

5+ years of Sales/Use tax and Property tax experience in either public accounting and/or a large corporate tax department

Excellent communicator and presenter with an ability to influence all levels

Must have a demonstrated hands-on approach and success in working in a team-based environment

International tax experience

Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures and sales and use tax laws

Expert in Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel required

Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as analytical skills

Excellent Customer Service skills

Outstanding time management and organizational skills

Experience with ERP systems
